Private Networks Nigeria, Yaba College of
Technology & British Council Partnering for
the development of Alternative Power

The drive for the provision of alternative
power solution to Nigerians has received a
major boost following the partnership
between Private Networks Nigeria Limited (PNN),
a leading total telecommunication solutions
provider, Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH)
and British Council in a project tagged The
African Knowledge Transfer Partnership (AKTP)
The main focus of this joint venture is to
develop and implement efficient and
cost-effective alternative power supply and
cooling systems aimed at providing Nigerians
with an alternative to the present epileptic
power supply.
The program is also to help businesses
improve their competitiveness and
productivity through knowledge, technology
and skill acquisition.
As part of the take off of this joint
venture, Yaba College of Technology is to
provide its Research and Knowledge Base;
While British Council will provide some
funds and training. Private Networks Nigeria
on its part would facilitate the successful
completion of the project.
According to Mr. Shafideen Oladunjoye
Adeyinka, the Chief Technical officer of
Private Networks Nigeria, PNN has been in
the forefront of advocating for an
alternative means of power supply which
would not only boost businesses but also
reduce the present tariffs on GSM calls.
