PNN Bags Pioneer Low Energy Designs

Private Networks Nigeria (PNN), a leading
Pan-African technology service provider has
clinched the 2009 recognition award for selfless
service to Humanity in the area of pioneering
and promotion Low Energy Designs in Nigeria.
PNN was recognized in Abuja recently at the
first National Lighting Conference organized by
the Association of Illumination Professionals (AIP),
the Lighting professionals concerned with
efficient energy lighting in Nigeria.
Receiving the award, Major Theo Williams Rtd,
PNN’s chief consultant said PNN’s street lights
are incorporated with the latest Light Emitting
Diodes (LED) technology making them suitable for
replacing existing street lights or for new
installations off grid.
“PNN has spent several years in the research and
development of a solar powered lighting solution
that is cost effective, reliable and durable, to
address the inefficient lighting situation
prevalent in Nigeria and has been the pioneer of
LED lights in Nigeria”, he said.
He added that “PNN’s solar powered LED lights
are not only reliable and energy efficient, they
also provide environmental benefits, either
powered by DC or alternative power sources. It
allows for maintenance free operations, ensure
low or no energy running costs, have comparative
capital expenditure to conventional lighting and
made to last between 12-24 years”.
PNN has won several awards, including “Best
Value Added Service Provider” at the 2004
Nigerian Telecom Awards and “Best Value Added
Service Provider” at the 2007 Titans of Tech
Awards and “The Telecoms Infrastructure
Maintenance Company” of the year 2009.
