Private Networks Nigeria Limited (PNN) says
it has commenced the sale of its new “Mi”
brand of mobile handsets that has just
entered the Nigerian market via its
nationwide authorized Speakeezee retail
stores.
Launched in April 2008, ‘Mi’ has secured
African network operator and leading
distribution deals in ten markets.
‘Mi-Fones’ are officially available in
Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Mauritius,
and DRC to name a few.
In January 2009, ‘Mi” was the only handset
manufacturer in the world to release a Mi-Obama
phone (limited edition) made exclusively for
the Kenyan market. This particular exercise
which was done for fun got the world talking
about “Mi” with endless articles and blogs
from the cellular tech world.(Google: Mi-Obama
phone).
“Mi’s” record market penetration is expected
to be high in Nigeria because of the brands
clever positioning. “We providing the
emerging market consumer a range of reliable
good looking products at affordable prices
with the key focus being, on variety” says
Alpesh Patel, CEO for Mi.
Nigerian consumers can find the “Mi” range
of funky handsets of all Speakeezee retail
stores. The Mi phone product range is an
arsenal of slick, status affirming phone
models boosted by the flagship “Mi” Metalix
range. All of the ‘Mi’ products are
available in the market at well under N13,
000.00.
Patel went on to say “we are extremely proud
and honoured to have Speakeezee carry our
range in our prime retail stores. The Mi
handsets will be available exclusively at
Speakeezee outlets first and our Nigerian
distributor, PNN, will thereafter appoint
other retailers and dealers nationwide”.
